Mini Dental Implants

The MDI (mini dental implant) System consists of a miniature titanium implant that acts like the root of your tooth and a retaining fixture that is incorporated into the base of your denture, The head of the implant is shaped like a ball and the retaining fixture has a socket that contains a rubber O-ring. The O-ring snaps over the ball when the denture is seated and holds the denture at a predetermined level of force. When seated, the denture gently rests on the gum tissue. The implant fixtures allow for slight movement of your denture while at the same time resists the tendency for your denture to dislodge.

Mini implants are a cost-effective alternative to conventional implants for stabilizing full or partial dentures. They can be incorporated into a new denture or added to an existing one.

Placement of mini implants is a simple procedure done in the office using local anesthetic. At an initial visit, x-rays are taken to plan treatment, evaluate available bone and measure for the correct size implants. If necessary, new dentures are made before the implants are placed. Finally. the implants are inserted and attached to the denture. After an initial period of eating a soft diet and getting used to the "feel" of the implants, your implant supported denture is ready for regular use.

While not as predictable as conventional implants, mini implants provide a simple, affordable solution for problem dentures.  Contact us today  to find out if mini dental implants are right for you.
